They had recently split with their business partner, and needed to rebrand the orange-themed Briteside Studio into something of their own. Carr needed an rebirth of their brand identity that encompassed their retro flair &amp; potential they saw for the future iteration of this rentable studio &amp; gathering space. I played with eye-catching, “juicy” yet comforting colours to give the project a vintage feel in a modern world, using sixties-era fonts to keep our project sustainable with a peppering of nostalgia. I wrote and designed the book with representation in mind; to spread awareness of gender diversity and neurodivergence and expand the offerings of said topics in children’s literature. The project entailed: market and design research; story development and storyboarding; illustration; longform layout; materials sourcing; print preparation in collaboration with a local printshop; handover to the printer including all pre-press production; designing a website landing page for promotion; animating a teaser trailer; and finally, hand-binding my submission copy.
